2022 FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar have already established that eight match venues would play hosts to games when hostilities begin at the tournament next year. Qatar 2022 World Cup tournamentis scheduled to take place over a period of 27 days in November and December.
Next year’s FIFA World Cup tournament on Qatari soil will take place from November 21 to December 18.
Initially, five of the eight proposed match venues forthe World Cup tournament were unveiled at the beginning of March 2010. The other three match venues were unveiled much later.
Out of all the World Cup Stadiums for the Qatar 2022 tournament, Al Bayt Stadium is expected to be the only indoor stadium. Al Bayt is the second largest of all the World Cup Stadiums for Qatar 2022 with a capacity of 60,000. From the other World Cup Stadiums, only the Lusail IconicStadium has a bigger capacity than the Al Bayt Stadium. The Lusail Iconic Stadium has a capacity of 80,000.
Apart from the duo of Lusail Iconic Stadium and Al Bayt Stadium, the other Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Stadiums are Al Thumama Stadium, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium and the Al Janoub Stadium. The others are Education City Stadium, Ahmed bin Ali Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium.
The 32 teams for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournamentare far from being complete. As at the last count, only the trio of hosts Qatar, Germany and Denmark are assured of a place at the tournament billed for the end of next year.
Four-time world championsGermanyhave a fifth title as target ahead of the tournament next year. Their fourth and last win was at the 2014 edition in Brazilthanks to the extra time win over Argentina in the final. Mario Gotze came off the bench to score in extra time and give the Germans a 1-0 win.
